Island of Tabarca
The marine reserve (Reserva marina de la Isla de Tabarca), the captivating architecture and the charming natural scenery, all offer the island of Tabarca. Interestingly, it is also the smallest permanently inhabited island in Spain.
On the island you will find a fishing village, beaches with turquoise waters, rocky coves and several romantic tidal pools suitable for swimming. The clear waters and the diverse underwater fauna (sea bass, boobies, eels, starfish, sea turtles and more) make the island an extremely attractive snorkelling location.
Trip to Tabarca
The boat departs from the port of Torrevieja every day and is often accompanied by dolphins - timetable and prices (in English). A cheaper but mainly shorter alternative is to sail from the port of Santa Pola, detailed information in Spanish is available at islatabarca.com.
