The climate...
A wonderful holiday is guaranteed by the extremely stable average temperature (20 °C), up to 340 sunny days a year and the possibility of swimming in the sea from May to October. The climate over the Costa Blanca belongs to the subtropical zone.
The Costa Blanca, a holiday paradise in south-eastern Spain, is characterised by a specific microclimate and weather that ranks among the most stable in the Mediterranean. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has repeatedly declared the Costa Blanca one of the healthiest places in the world.
Thanks to the very high salinity of the surrounding lakes, of which there are several in the area, the local air is very beneficial for everyone's health, especially for asthmatics. The high amount of sea salt is also a great cosmetic aid for your body. Salt makes your skin softer, more beautiful and healthier.
The healing mud found in the lakes also has beneficial effects on human health. The healing mud is ideal especially for musculoskeletal diseases, skin diseases and respiratory diseases. The method of therapy involves the use of sea water, climate, algae, mud and mineral salts. Due to the special climatological conditions, the large number of hours of sunshine throughout the year and the high salinity of the water, mud has been forming in the lagoon since time immemorial. The ancient Romans used it for healing treatments. Numerous expert studies have confirmed its healing effects.
"Rub the affected areas with mud and let it dry. Then wash them off within an hour." This is simply the advice of experienced people who come here every year and claim that the healing effects of the local mud and water can be felt after just two days. The mud is applied by hand directly from the bottom of the Mar Menor lagoon. The mud is particularly suitable for application during sunny and warm weather, when the applied layer dries well and quickly. Between applications, the mud should be washed off with the salt water of the lagoon and the process repeated.
